Air India Flight 171: Disaster in the Skies

Hey guys, welcome back to the eyesphy.com and on 16th June 2025, i.e. today when I am writing this blog an Air India flight AI315 took off from Hong Kong to Delhi. This plane was also a Boeing 787 Dreamliner model plane which crashed 4 days ago. After take off from Hong Kong, this plane had some technical problems in mid air. The pilot talked to ATC and finally they decided that we will make it do an emergency landing. According to some sources, this plane also had an engine problem. Currently this plane is being investigated.

Boeing and Airbus manufacture and sell planes worldwide. That was a Boeing 787 model plane. Boeing has manufactured more than 1000 planes of this model. Apart from this, it manufactures planes of many models like Boeing 737, and Boeing 787. Boeing even manufactures their parts so that if any part needs to be changed during servicing, those parts can be sold again. With time, the demand for planes is also increasing and the workers here always have this pressure in their minds that

Work should be completed as quickly as possible. Often this hurry makes the workers do things that they should not do. Sam, a Boeing engineer, had been working at Boeing for decades. He noticed that a lot has changed now. He says that while making a plane, everything is fitted in a hurry. To join many huge pieces of the plane, it has to be ensured that everything fits in a precise manner. But the shape and size of the two pieces should also be the same. Only then will it fit easily. But many times this does not happen and it is fitted in the wrong way.

As a result, after a few years, the structure of the plane starts getting weak. Sam also says that the workers forcefully align the parts of the plane by jumping like Tarzan and this has been done at a rapid pace for the last few years. But his claim was dismissed and he was told to keep his mouth shut. John, an engineer at Boeing, is responsible for quality control. John’s job here is to check whether the parts being made are as perfect as they should be. He found that the workers here are not able to align the parts as much as they should be.

Workers are not able to make parts according to demand due to production pressure. So they fit even those parts which fail to meet the quality standards. But even then those defective parts are fitted in the plane. They say that the oxygen system in the aircraft will also turn out to be faulty one in four times. The oxygen system is basically used when both the engines of the plane fail at high altitudes or for some reason the air pressure in the cabin starts decreasing. In such a situation, all the passengers have trouble breathing. Will not be able to breathe.

There is an emergency oxygen mask in the plane for such conditions. However according to John, in case of emergency, one out of every four passengers will not be able to breathe. Because one out of four oxygen masks is faulty. He also raised his voice against Boeing. But Boeing denied everything. Later on, a case was also filed on this issue in March 2024. But a single person could not stand up to such a big company. Maybe he was in depression when the third hearing took place in the court. After this, people found John’s dead body. Head But he had died due to the bullet injury. The wound was such as if he had shot himself. John’s family also filed a lawsuit. Saying that John became a victim of depression and anxiety because of Boeing. A similar issue was raised by Boeing mechanic Richard and after this, he was fired from the job. He had complained about the pressure bulkhead. The bulkhead is the rear part of the tail of the plane which maintains the air pressure inside the plane. Many such complaints were made to the Federal Aviation Administration that the fix was not done.

The fitting is not being done properly and in January 2024 the door of the Boeing 737 Max came off. At that time also dozens of people came forward and complained that poor quality parts were being installed. After so many complaints about Boeing’s planes, finally the FAA investigated. They also found that there are multiple issues in the production of the plane and it is not that no one has lost their life due to these mistakes. Whether we talk about Boeing Air or Ethiopian Airlines, when Boeing fitted such a technology in the plane there was no news.

The pilot was not aware and the result was two back-to-back plane accidents. Hundreds of people died. I have explained this entire case in detail in this video. Both these accidents happened due to the same reason. If Boeing had fixed these technologies in time, then perhaps many lives could have been saved. Friends, the world may say anything, but when Boeing workers, Boeing engineers, and Boeing quality check officers themselves start giving statements that the manufacturing of planes is being done in a very wrong way, then in such a situation, trust is shaken.

It seems so. Whatever you say, Boeing has made mistakes. But did Air India Flight 171 crash due to any mistake of Boeing? The Well Investigation team is investigating this as well. Both the black boxes of the plane have been recovered and the entire case is being investigated by AAIB i.e. Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau. Right now the entire focus of the investigators is to find out whether there was any problem in maintenance and the fuel system is also being investigated. Because the fuel system can also play a very big role. In the plane.

Both engines shut down simultaneously, so the chances of this happening are very low. That’s why the fuel system is being checked. If the fuel doesn’t reach the engine, there are 100% chance that both engines will fail simultaneously. A similar accident happened in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand. The plane took off but the engine failed. Thrust stopped coming and the plane fell on the roof of the house. It was a small single-propeller plane. That’s why there was no fire. When its report came out, it was found that the fuel supply was off.

Whether it is one engine or two, if fuel is not able to reach the engines, both engines will stop working simultaneously. Therefore, there can be a problem of fuel supply as well.

Here is my theory about the Air India crash –

One alive Passenger told the media that lights started flickering green and white so it always happens when both the engines are failed or off .. RAT deployed- when both engine generators failed. I don’t think both engines can fail at the same time. Air India Flight 171 took off later than expected, which could be because one engine had failed while it was on the runway. Video footage of the takeoff shows a large dust cloud forming just as it lifts off, which suggests that it is near the end of the runway.

Why do aircraft consume more runway than normal? If both engines had failed, the aircraft would not have taken off at all. But even with one engine down, it took more runway than expected. It may be due to the MTOW being much more than the limit. Imagine if there was overloading, and one engine failed on the runway. The pilots must have been startled. They would have seen the perimeter wall of the airport and wondered why the aircraft had not taken off… They were already tense about the engine failure and the delayed lift-off. They were distracted. They were supposed to pull up the landing gear at around 100 feet. Now, listen carefully. They climbed for 100-150 feet with a damaged engine and forgot to pull the landing gear up.

Pilots are required to follow ‘memory items’ in the event of an engine failure. When they hit 400 feet, the Captain of the aircraft pulled the thrust idle switch for the faulty engine, and the co-pilot pulled the fuel control switch off for the wrong engine…Wrong engine means working engine. One engine was damaged on the ground, and the other engine killed themselves.

At 400 feet, they were without power and the aircraft started losing altitude. Pulling the fuel control switch off and the engine fire switch are irreversible actions on a Boeing aircraft. Engines will not come back, but on Airbus this action is reversible. Boeing has to modify this thing.

So Late takeoff because one engine failed, the pilots were startled, and they did not pull the gear up… Once they have cut the wrong engine, they are without power.

You can not do anything after that. You are going down, and you have 10-12 seconds before impact. The footage shows they tried to pull the nose up, but the plane crashed into a building the worst disaster in the history of aviation
